to stay inside a hotel, windows open heater on
windows open heater on
smoke rings rise and then fall, oh don't we all
windows open heater on
i feel like i'm falling
i feel like i'm falling
i feel like i'm falling
do you feel like your
do you feel like your
do you feel like your falling
falling falling falling falling
your falling
your falling
to stay inside a hotel, windows open heater on
windows open heater on

Hey Reptile
04:30
|
|
||
the poet walks down
the road alone as always
his notebook of words
is lost in crowded hallways
all of his work is now gone and he lets out a sigh
if old words expire
i spoke about a writer
on some lonely street
jotted down that his feet were tired
he carefully walked on his tight rope wire
"hey reptile it's been a while
can you hand a scale to me
sonata sail i left my tale
in the arpeggiating sea"
a girl from the hallway
finds the novel open
and she reads every letter
until the words are broken
she knows she can fix it she writes them all down from her mind
"hey reptile it's been
can you hand it to my friend
im not sure how to begin
i'm not sure how to end"

though my heart is fading i won't be replacing the things i've come to know
i've come to know you dearly i wish you always near me i've seen you high and low
lower than me higher than me higher than me
but now you won't be found you won't be found you won't be found you won't be found
and your not coming back
there once was a sparrow he found his nest to narrow took to the skies above
he came onto a clearing and with his eyes appearing they fell upon a dove
he was in love i've been in love i've been in love
but now he won't be found he won't be found not in his nest for he's the doves guest
and he's not coming back
he drove away all his friends cause he don't know how to act right
they took away all his keys cause he don't know how to drive right
but one day maybe they won't sell him corrosive borderline explosives
now there is a horse who thinks her hair too coarse so she'll cut it all away
but little does she know a lion could not grow a finer looking mane
finer than mine finer than yours finer than yours
but now it will be found it will be found it will be found all over the ground
but i wonder if she'll be back
all my friends are animals i see them come i see them go
cause you'll need your nest when you don't feel your best

Inside a Dream
03:30
|
|

inside a dream i was lost it would seem that i always am
but what could it mean that my mouth is glued shut
but what could it mean that the glue is not enough to silence me
you'd have to be out of your mind
you'd have to be out of your mind
you'd have to be out of your mind
you'd have to be out of your mind to try and silence me
inside a dream i was lost it would seem that i always am
inside a dream i was lost it would seem that i always am
lost
you'd have to be out of your mind
you'd have to be out of your mind
you'd have to be out of your mind
you'd have to be out of your mind to try and silence me

Rainey Afternoon

she might be walking in the morning
or on a rainy afternoon
she might be walking in the evening
under quarters of the moon
i can tell from your expression
that you need redirection
because you're lost out under big black holes

Shapes
05:00
|
|

i was making shapes
out of shapeless things
my lonesome, now the shapes are making me
i was taking weight
out of weightless dreams
my lonesome, now the weight has taken me
i'm not afraid to die anymore
i'm not afraid to die
if i could move in step
and, circle-out of breath
with you then i'd need nothing else
to pull me through
too bad i've been making shapes
out of shapeless things
my lonesome, now the shapes are making me
i'm not afraid to die anymore
i'm not afraid to die

you were over yourself just like everyone else
in a moment of somber reflection
not until i passed by had the idea of time
asked to be by your side
i said what can it mean to exist in a dream
when it's the only thing you've got left
plus a cigarette a lighter a cigarette a lighter
but don't forget your tired
to discover the bark of a tree could hold such high regard for leaves
I pointed it out to you
announced my journey through i wish you good luck
home
let it all out
and we'll drive home
to the ocean
home
let it all out
and we'll drive home
to the ocean
